Scientists Say Mars Lander Photos Show Ice

White material, possibly ice, is located only at the upper portion of the trench, indicating that it is not continuous throughout the excavated site

Scientists say new photographs from NASA's Mars lander show the robotic probe has dug up pieces of ice on the planet's surface. In Miami, VOA's Brian Wagner reports, the finding is a strong boost to the mission, which hopes to uncover signs of life on Mars.

Scientists have been focusing on several small, white pieces of material that one of the probe's robot arms uncovered in the planet's soil this week. Photographs from the $420 million probe first revealed the chunks, which are no larger than two centimeters, about five days ago. But pictures transmitted late Thursday show the pieces had vanished, leading scientists to believe it was ice turning into water vapor in the planet's dry atmosphere.

Principal investigator Peter Smith of the University of Arizona in Tucson, says the finding does not come as a surprise. But the evidence helps prove the substance was not salt, rock or another material.

"It is with great pride and a lot of joy today I announce we have found the proof that we have been seeking that this hard, bright material is water ice and not some other substance," he said.

Mark Lemmon of the University of Texas A&M is studying the photographs taken by the Phoenix lander as it digs into the Martian soil and analyzes materials that it finds. He says the Phoenix team has achieved its first goal of finding water, and now it moves on to the next phase of looking for signs of organic life.

"It's really getting in there and finding what is mixed in with the ice, and finding out to what extent it is a habitable environment," he said. "Those are the questions we will be answering with the full Phoenix payload [capabilities] over the next several weeks."

The Mars probe contains chemistry laboratories, a furnace and other tools to study the composition of materials on the planet's surface. Scientists say one goal of the mission is to find the remains of organic life trapped in the ground ice.

How to Make Menu for Blogspot

Some people maybe wonder, how to make horizontal tab menu like in my site. But you'll never find any tools for make it inside blogspot. But it doesn't mean you can't make it. We can make it! How? Here you are..

Just for knowledge...

We'll make horizontal menu that it means every time you click one of the menu.. it'll go to recent page that sometimes we think it new page. But we'll not make new page, just new post. In another word we just make somelinks (shortcuts) to our post from the menu :) . But dont worry... it will be nice :)

Let's make it :

For example, we wanna make menu for Home, Download and Tutorial. So you have to make posts with title Home, Download and Tutorial. Publised it all then. We won't the pages showed and they mixed with our new posts recently, so in Options [bellow of compose box] changed the date. :) It is better to change it to older date. Then get the URL of each post. For example : http://yourblogspot.blogspot.com/2008/06/home.html, http://yourblogspot.blogspot.com/2008/06/download.html, http://yourblogspot.blogspot.com/2008/06/tutorial.html

Yup we'll go to the next steps...
Till here we'll need external help. Go to List-O-Matic. Follow the steps till you got 2 types of code; html and css. For example :

here is the html for the list :

Depan

Tentang

Portofolio

copy the html code and from Layout >> Add a page element - html/javascript and after press save, place it wherever you like.

Here is the CSS for this list:
#navlist ul
{
margin-left: 0;
padding-left: 0;
white-space: nowrap;
}
#navlist li
{
display: inline;
list-style-type: none;
}
#navlist a { padding: 3px 10px; }
#navlist a:link, #navlist a:visited
{
color: #fff;
background-color: #036;
text-decoration: none;
}
#navlist a:hover
{
color: #fff;
background-color: #369;
text-decoration: none;
}

For css code,, copy it and put it in Layout >> Edit Html then paste it before code </b:skin> and save template.. :)

Finish and happy tryin' ...

Enter Blocked Site

Have you ever surfed with your computer and some sites are locked?? Or you wanna seem like you're from another country, not from your own country where your're surfing?? It just simple!! We usually often use proxy that you can get it all in our uncle, Google. Just type 'proxy list' and press Enter... and you got it!

Well first we should practise and proof it. Check your own public ip address. Go to ip-adress. Remember your ip when you got it . Next,, do the steps that I've told above, surf with Google and type 'proxy list'. When you've entered the sites.. select country that you want to be like from. I recommended USA [people said it is much faster:) ]. Then it'll be showed to you the list of ip and the port. The format is usually xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyy where xxx represents IP and yyy represents the port.
For example 69.14.211.102:2396 before ':' is IP and after it is port. Choose one of 'em ... But dont close the window..

Note : Find the anonymous server :)

Setting your Browser...

Internet Explorer
      1. TOOLS >> INTERNET OIPTIONS
      2. In the tab CONNECTION >> LAN SETTING >> PROXY SERVER,,give check sign for USE A PROXY >> then fill out ADDRESS with IP and PORT with PORT yo've gotten from the site
      3. Give check sign for BYPASS PROXY.... >> OK
FIREFOX
      1. TOOLS >> INTERNET OPTIONS
      2. ADVANCE >> CONFIGURE HOW...
      3. MANUAL PROXY CONFIGURATION >> HTTP PROXY
      4. Enter the IP and the port >> OK
Then to proof is the ip worked or not,,, use the site that you used to track your IP before you using proxy.. If it still the same [the IP didnt change at all] try another IP and just try, try and try.. till you got it. Note : some IPs and ports some times have expired. So when you got worked IPs and ports.. note 'em. Who knows we need it some times.
Ehmmm... I've not explained yet the function.. Ow I have :)) As addition many hackers and/or crackers use this steps to hide their indentity, especially their IP address.. of course :)

Oops almost forgotten.. You can also use web proxy to enter blocked sites. For example Unbloockedsites or Proxbi or just ask our uncle Google.

Firefox 3

Three years in development, over 15,000 bug fixes and feature improvements, a new page rendering engine, remarkable performance gains, multiple OS integration—you could say the several hundred engineers working on Firefox have been busy. And their work has paid off. Speedy performance, thrifty memory usage, and, in particular, the address bar that now predicts where you want to go when you start typing (what Mozilla insiders refer to as the Awesome Bar) firmly plant Firefox at the top of the Web browser hill.

When you install Firefox 3, you don't have to worry about losing anything from Firefox 2—history, bookmarks, start page, search engine preference, and even downloads performed in the earlier browser version—all will be there to greet you like old friends. The installer for Firefox 3 is available in 46 languages, from Afrikaans to Ukrainian. The US English version weighs in at a 7.1MB for Windows, 17 for Mac OS X, and 8.6 for Linux. Installation is as painless as it gets—it took me about 20 seconds on a far-from-new XP system.

Firefox 3 looks barely different than its predecessor, but it's undergone a minor face-lift—in particular, the Forward and Back buttons, in combination, look like a sideways keyhole. The browser buttons and window frames have also been redesigned to conform with the look of whichever OS you're running—Windows XP, Vista, Macintosh, or Linux.

Microsoft Patches Windows Home Server

Microsoft said this week that it has begun sending out a patched release candidate of Windows Home Server Power Pack 1, which fixes the file corruption problems that the OS has experienced for the last several months.

Users can download the fix (Build 1771) via the Microsoft Connect program.

"We are running this public beta with the aspiration that we will get thousands of beta testers to help us prove that we not only have fixed 'the bug', but have significantly improved all parts of Windows Home Server with new features such as" support for 64-bit Vista, backup of shared folders, better remote access and energy efficiency, and support for Chinese and Japanese languages, Microsoft said.

Microsoft said it's confident that the new RC1 release fixes the bug, which affected "a small percentage" of users who used certain programs to edit or transfer files that were stored across WHS machines with more than one hard drive.

"We will not ship the final release of Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 until the community has validated our work. In the Release Documentation for Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 we outline a number of specific test scenarios," WHS general manager Charlie Kindel wrote in a blog post. "For us to feel our testing has been validated we need a large number of beta testers to work through these scenarios and regular home server operation for a period of time. Given the fantastic number of people who have signed up already (well ahead of the numbers we were hoping for), and how great the community has been in the past in helping us, I am confident we'll get enough testers. The only remaining question is how quickly those testers download the bits and start testing them. "

Once the scenarios are worked through, a final version will be released, Microsoft said.

Since the RC1 candidate is not a final version, users will probably experience bugs, and are strongly advised to manually back up their files before installing the new software. Microsoft has set up a forum to help users solve their problems; known issues include a tendency to run out of memory, and a duration of an hour or more to download the updated connector files.
